BioX at BioHackathon Edinburgh 2026

At BioHackathon Edinburgh 2026, our team built BioX — a web platform that turns weeks of wet-lab media tuning into a fast digital-twin simulation.

The pipeline ingests raw genomic sequences, reconstructs genome-scale metabolic models with CarveMe, runs Flux Balance Analysis via COBRApy, and uses SMAC3 Bayesian optimization to search the nutrient design space automatically. A Vue 3 + FastAPI frontend exposes the whole thing through interactive sliders, so biologists can explore “what-if” diets without touching the command line.
